WHAT IS SMART AND SKILLED?

NSW Smart and Skilled provides eligible NSW students with subsidised training up to and including Certificate III, as well as government funding for higher-level courses (Certificate IV and above) in targeted priority areas.

The focus of NSW Smart and Skilled is getting people into the workforce by helping them improve language, literacy and numeracy as well as gain specific job skills. Certificates I, II and III are considered the minimum requirements for getting a job.

People who meet the NSW Smart and Skilled eligibility conditions are entitled to enrol in a subsidised course up to Certificate III regardless of the level of any previous qualifications held. So if you already hold an Advanced Diploma qualification you can still apply for funding for a Certificate III in Business course or a Certificate IV or even get subsidised training for the Diploma of Business.

To be eligible for NSW Smart and Skilled funding you must be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, Australian humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen; 15 years old or over; no longer at school and living or working in NSW.

Certificate i in skills for vocational pathways

About this course

This course will enable you to gain the skills and confidence to reach your potential for further study or to re-enter the workforce. You will build on your reading and writing skills as well improve on your mathematical abilities as well as your digital and computer skills. At BEST Training you will be provided with a supportive and comfortable environment where you will always feel like you are at home.

You can commence any time during the year after approval into the training. This course is a mixed mode delivery class and attendance is required every Monday and Every Tuesday from 9.30am to 2.30pm for 6 months.

BEST Training offers a range of short courses, ranging from Digital Skills Training, Community Services Training as well as First Aid and CPR and White Card Induction Training.
